Antigua has a mix of all that is good about the Caribbean. There is superb sailing, great beaches, plentiful anchorages, a mixture of low key and high octane nightlife and important historical sites. An ideal destination for a 1 week cruise around the island or a longer charter to take in the island of Barbuda to the north, the sailing and navigation is of moderate level. English harbour and the famous Nelson’s Dockyard are not to be missed, as is a trip to Shirley’s Heights above English harbour either on a daytime visit for the stunning views or at night when things really come to life, especially on the Sunday and Wednesday night “jump up” when steel bands play and the rum flows late in to the night!
