Guadeloupe, as a French protectorate has excellent air connections with Paris arriving at its international airport (PTP) about 6 km north of Pointe-à-Pitre town itself. Other options for those not able or willing to fly via Paris are available through the usual Caribbean hubs of San Juan, Antigua and St Lucia and it is also worth looking at alternatives to Martinique’s Fort de France (FDF) airport with a short connecting flight to Guadeloupe to commence your yacht charter. Allow a decent amount of connection time for unforeseen delays especially if you plan to take the last connection of the day. Alternatively, plan a night in a hotel on your transit island to arrive fresh the next morning to start your sailing holiday.
