Direct flights to Phuket are available but most people still arrive via Bangkok (BKK) and take the 1 hour 20 minute connecting flight to Phuket International Airport (HKT) at the northern end of Phuket. From there the transfer to the Boat Lagoon where most charter boats are situated is about 40 minutes. A transfer can easily be arranged by your charter company and is a better bet than hiring a car for the short journey, especially as driving in Thailand is not for the uninitiated.
