The Balearic
temperatures begin to warm respectably during the spring
months, peaking at about 22 °C (72 °F) in May. By then,
there are about 10 hours of sunshine on average per day,
and also 25 dry days. Despite settled warm daytime
weather, nights can be surprisingly cool, even in May.
Coastal regions have a fairly constant daytime maximum
temperature of about 22 °C (72 °F by the end of May. The
peak summer season in the Balearics sees average daily
maximum temperatures up to a very warm 29 °C (85 °F)
with a respectable average of 11 hours of sunshine. The
summer months are essentially dry, with up to 30 dry
days.
Autumnal sea temperatures are still comfortably high for
swimming, and so with daily average maximum temperatures
remaining at about 27 °C (81 °F) in September and early
October, the area is an ideal spot for a late holiday.
However, these temperatures will have fallen back to 18
°C (66 °F) in the Balearics by November.
The months have now become rather wetter, with about 22
dry days. Sunshine hours have reduced to about 5 by
November.
