| How to get to Sardinia:
There are three main airports in Sardinia with charter
and scheduled services arriving direct from all over
Europe or via one of Italy’s mainland airports from
further afield. Direct flights have become more frequent
and better value in recent years although many people
still choose to fly to Malpensa Airport on the mainland
and then take a connecting flight to Sardinia as an
alternative to flying direct.
If you plan to fly directly to Sardinia for your yacht
charter, the three major airports on the island are in
Cagliari (south coast), Olbia (north east coast) and
Alghero (north west coast). Cagliari Elmas Airport is
situated 5 miles from Cagliari itself and is Sardinia’s
main airport with the best international connections.
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is situated on the north
east coast 3 miles from the town of Olbia, while
Alghero-Fertilia Airport serves the north west of
Sardinia and the towns of Porto Torres, Sassari and
Alghero itself.
If you plan to arrive by ferry to Sardinia for your
yacht charter, regular services run from Naples and
Civitavecchia (near Rome) to Cagliari and from Genoa to
Olbia and Porto Torros. |
