Gocek lies in the large sheltered Fethiye Bay to the south of Marmaris. Within the bay, winds are gentle and sailing is easy with short distances between delightful anchorages. Gocek itself is a bustling harbour town with everything you might need. From the harbour of Fethiye you can visit the breathtaking Saklikent Gorge and there are several islands within the bay that make superb daytime and overnight stops. As you leave Fethiye bay winds increase and you can head north towards Marmaris via Ekincik, from where you can take a day trip to the Dalyan river for white water rafting or a “soothing” mud bath, or turn south to Kas and Kalkan for some longer passages and more sailing time with some superb harbours to greet you.
