The climate in
the Bay of Islands on the North Island of New Zealand,
is generally mild, with temperatures at their warmest
between October and April. It is cooler during the
winter months of June, July and August, although there
is no distinct climate change in the seasons of
Northland New Zealand. The climate is quite subtropical
at times, with an average of seven to eight hours of
sunny weather each day in The Bay of Islands. Weather
can change quickly, with tropical cyclones and cold
fronts affecting the climate at times. Rainy weather can
occur at any time of the year, although it is more
likely in the winter. In general terms the Bay’s climate
could be considered similar to that of Northern
Portugal.
