Direct flights to Tonga are only available from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa and Hawaii. If you are arriving from elsewhere, you will have to fly to one of those points first. Auckland and Nadi/Suva in Fiji are the most common routes. Most flights arrive at Fua'amotu International Airport, about 15km southeast of Nuku'alofa, although some flights go to Lupepapau'u International airport on Vava'u. When you leave Tonga there is a departure tax of 25 Pa'anga (T$).
